Paris is in Devon. She is very loving but extremely nervous of noise and sudden movement so unfortunately she wouldn't be suitable for a home with children. She can live with another whippet dog but we would prefer her not to live with another bitch as she has been used as a brood bitch and likes to dominate other females. She needs access to a safe and quiet garden and even though. She has had an awful past and needs someone who is going to be gentle with her. Paris doesn't mind being left alone, however an owner who is home most of the time for company is what she really deserves.

I have just been homechecked by Clair (as a foster) and I wondered if my set up here in Bath might not be good for the lovely but nervous little Paris. My husband and I work at home and so there is at least 1 person here most if not all of the time. We have 2 male whippets, 4 years old, one a rescue and the other quite bombproof and totally relaxed. We have a very large, mostly wooded garden (fenced, walled and hedged) with a racetrack already laid out by our whippets - Clair's two girls Mollie and Blue had a whale of a time yesterday with my lads. Our children are grown up and so the house is childfree and quiet, with occasional visiting children who are kind and very well-behaved around dogs. I know she needs very special care but I thought I would offer in case what we have might be just what she needs.

That's great - does she need my telephone number or will she get it from Clair?

Any update on this yet Jane, I do love Paris so much and can't wait to see her in her forever home. We had already placed her with a lovely lady in a quiet home but very sadly shortly afterwards the lady became seriously ill and was unable to take care of Paris anymore. I do hope our Jane considers you, poor little girl must so need to feel secure at last

Hi Sharon, so glad to hear from you. Rachel has said she'll remind Scruples Jane to get in touch.
I would love to meet dear Paris. I have a feeling that my two easy-going lads and this quiet (writers') home with a nice big wooded garden might give her the kind of security, structure and companionship she needs.
Meanwhile, just today Rachel has asked me to foster Kiki temporarily for a couple of weeks (covering holidays I think) while she is spayed and recovers before going to her forever home. By boys are going to practice their charm....

I know that Jane feels this little one needs particular care and affection - wants to sleep with her human and sit on sofas for cuddles - we have a superking size bed just for the purpose of sheltering all-comers and my job is a sit down one - on sofas as well as in front of the computer - so perhaps we might do?
