Astro only came into us today so we will be adding more info as time goes on. Astro was handed over to us by someone who had rescued Astro from a home where he wasn't being looked after. His previous owners were not giving him the exercise or attention that he needed. He also had an accident where he jumped out of a window and ended up needing his leg pinned and plated. His leg has now totally healed, although it does need muscle building on it. Astro is a 9 month old whippet cross. He is only 17inches tts at the moment, so he will remain whippet sized. He seems to be very friendly and loving and is ok with cats, if anything he is a little scared of them! Astro is being vaccinated and microchipped this coming week.

I have the pleasure of fostering this boy and he is a lovely boy with a great temprament. He has lived with other dogs his whole life so is fine with them. He is a little wary of cats but after just 3hrs in our home he hasn't bothered with them once since the intial greeting was over, so he could live with cats. He has lived with children from about 3 years old and upwards but i will leave that to Scruples team to decide on kids as he was picked on quite a bit in his home before last by them so he may be better suited to slightly older kids.
He has been walked on a slip leadin the past, but with him being a foster in a new area my husband has put him on a Halti to make sure there is no issue with him trying to get off lead, he is still a bit unsure of the halti but walks really well with little distractions getting a small pull but the majority of the time he is walking within the limits of the lead, and will wait without major movements.
He likes travelling in the car and sits happily in the boot with the guard up. He has a good appitite and is very food orientated so this will help with training. He likes his toys and bones.
So far he has been a brilliant boy and i think he will make someone a lovely friend.
I will put some better pics up once he has settled. But i really do not think this little guy will be waiting for long as he is a perfect gem ;D

Had a really good night. Astro is house trained so no accidents, he slept through the night and is not bothered about the cats at all. He has settled in great and is very laid back, i think due to his amount of house moves he has learnt to settle quickly and taking everything in his stride. His walking is great now on the halti and doesn't pull. Here is a couple of pics, first one with my daughter curled up on her knee and the second one he has settled enough to roach. Sam x

Hi Sam, what a wonderfully relaxed little dog. I think he's probably very bright and knows he's well and truly landed on his paws! x

Picture of Astro cuddled up with my Saluki and cat. I have had no problems with him at all. He is learning to play more and more. There has been no accidents in the house. He adores greeting the kids and getting cuddles on their knees and he sits nicely for his food and treats plus no food gaurding at all with main food or bones/treats.And as a bonus he walks great on lead now with just usual puppy easily distracted but soon as you say come on he continues walking next to you and is sleeping through the night from 11pm till 7.30am. Hi Sam, lovely update. What a super little character, almost miraculous given what his early life has been like! How rewarding to see him begin to play. Methinks this sweet boy won't be waiting long for his forever home

This little guy had his first injection and his microchip done to day and couldn't have been prouder not even a yelp! He licked the vet to death afterwards as well. He then met some very yappy jack russells on the way back to the car and although barked back to them as soon as told quiet he happily continued on walking. Then he went and met Cassie! He loved her same as everyone else he meets and was not bothered by her enormous size and loud bark when he tried to take one of her balls (she is obsessed and no-one,not even her favourite vinnie is allowed them if been in her mouth recently  ) She gave him a good fright with the bark she did but he went back to play with her straight away and the two of them got on great. He also meet 2 different cats and same as our cats he was not bothered about them. Sam x

Well Astro has been with us for just over a week and he has been a pleasure. He is always happy and has picked up house rules very quickly. A lovely quiet laid back boy. I will hopefully get my camera sorted this week and grab some better pics (although my camera skills aren't great, lol) and get them posted up.
