This is Star, a beautiful 14 month old whippet cross bitch who is currently being fostered in Somerset.
Star has had a bit of a rough ride in life so far, so needs to feel safe and well loved with human company there for her all the time.
Once settled she comes out of herself and becomes a happy, playful and affectionate girl.
Star is looking for a calm understanding home where she will be the only dog. She needs a home without cats or small furries and we also advise that any children in the home are no younger then 12 and are calm and dog savvy.
Her new owner needs to be an experienced dog owner who will be happy to take her to dog training and socialisation classes to work with her and continue the work her foster carer has started. Her recall to whistle is very, very good. She doesn't seem to know her name but is learning quickly. She is very intelligent and wont be hard to train.
Star's new owners must have a secure garden with 6ft fences. They also must be aware that she does have a strong prey drive, but not be afraid of it. Having a strong prey drive does not mean that she can't have exciting off lead runs like any other sighthound.
Stars foster carer is really working magic with her. However Star needs to settle into a permanent home as soon as possible as the longer she is with her foster carer, the harder it will be for her to readjust. Stars new owner will have the full support of Scruples at all times, and help is only a phonecall away if needed.
