I'm no expert, having only had 2 whippets from pups. Having said that, however, I can report that the behaviour you're describing sounds exactly like Scout when she was the same age as your little girl! She was an absolute hooligan (and to be honest, she still has her moments now, at the age of two and a half). She was seriously hard work - more energy than I thought it was possible to have. It didn't matter how much exercise she had, she just never stopped, and there were times when I fully expected poor old Spooky (currently aged 6) to pack his bags and leave home Spooks was a totally different pup, much calmer and frankly much easier! These days Scout is still a high-energy little madam, but much better than she was (at least she sleeps these days, she didn't sleep much as a pup ,). The key to Scout was to tire her out mentally as well as physically, so we did - and still do - lots of training, in classes, on walks, indoors etc. I also enlisted the help of a T-Touch practitioner when OH described living with Scout like "living with a wild animal" after she did the wall-of-death round the kitchen one evening This has worked wonders! She's a full-time job, but I love her We wouldn't be without them, would we Good luck with your little one - I'm sure she'll calm down eventually - maybe it's a girl-thing! Terry x

Thanks so much !! Yes - 'high energy' is the word. Our one doesn't sleep much at night either. I also think we assume she is so much hard work as we have the Chihuahuas who never did much even as very young pups and grew up quickly. Now we have a 'real' puppy dog if you get my drift ! So, it's all sounding 'normal' then. That's fine - we thought we had something along the lines of ADHD for a moment. Ha HA . She is a fantastric dog, really obedient and as bright as a button, so I guess she is keeping us on our toes. I just hope she doesn't become even more dominant as the dogs in the park will definitely give her a wide birth or not turn up for games at all. Thanks again, it's really nice to get opinions on things.
