Suggestions please? Our Whippet of 14 months will have her first season soon (she has to!). What can I do with her for 3 weeks, when she is used to at least a couple of hours of free running every day? (i.e. either chasing her rope ball or foraging in the woods with our other 4 dogs. She is soooo energetic - that 3 weeks confinement will be frustrating nightmare for her!

I felt exactly the same before Ginny had her first season. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as I feared. She was a bit off colour for the first 5-6 days anyway. Took her in the car to quiet places with fewer dogs about and walked her on a long line. Spent time playing mind games with her in the garden (it was May so weather wasn't too bad).
4 months later she was spayed. Wouldn't want to have to go through it twice a year.
