Hi, I've just joined the forum and am introducing myself. I owned a beautiful lurcher for 17 years and November last year a whippet puppy walked into my life. She was abandoned and ended up with me. The rescue people thing she was about 6 months old. She's everything they say about whippets;funny, affectionate,a thief, lover of squeaky toys, prone to deafness when out and a great joy. I have a 10year old cavaliar who refuses to play with her and cannot make up my mind whether to get her a rescue brother or sister as it seems so many people have 2 whippets/greyhounds or to leave things as they are. She so wants to play though and loves it if we go to the beach and she finds a dog to whizz with. Any advice?

Hi! I too am a newbie..... I share your dilemma with one or 2 whippies! I keep debating it too. I have a whippet cross greyhound who used to have an old friend but unfortunately we said a sad farewell to him last September. Im sure she misses him and she's getting increasingly dependant on us which we try to avoid her doing. I keep looking at all the rescues out there and I wish I had more time and money!!! I think I'll end up with more than one soon though!
